Citrea
Citrea is the first zero-knowledge rollup for Bitcoin, introducing a general-purpose execution layer that also improves scalability, leveraging Bitcoin for both data availability and settlement. Designed with modularity and trust minimization at its core, Citrea enables scalable and expressive Bitcoin applications. Common Prefix has collaborated with the Citrea team on the design, formalization, and analysis of the bridge and light client, culminating in the work presented in the Clementine paper.
Clementine
Clementine is a BitVM-based bridge that connects Citrea with Bitcoin. This bridge combines a Bitcoin light client with zero-knowledge proofs and permissionless challenging. Clementine introduces several improvements over existing BitVM bridge designs, including support for collateral reusage, reduced on-chain overhead, and a secure light client. This protocol is a major step forward for Bitcoin bridges, bringing trust-minimized interoperability and scalability to the Bitcoin ecosystem.
