Common Prefix

Zano

Zano is an open-source Layer-1 blockchain for confidential assets and decentralized applications (dApps). Its core innovation is combining payments based on the CryptoNote protocol with a hybrid Proof-of-Work (PoW)/Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanis. Common Prefix is collaborating with Zano on enhancing and expanding Zano's consensus protocol. We have analyzed the hybrid PoW/PoS protocol for potential hazards and offered advice on strengthening it against realistic attacks. We have also devised a pure privacy-preserving PoS protocol, which is efficiently implementable and tailored for the CryptoNote payment mechanism.

StakeNote

Stakenote proposes a distributed ledger protocol that combines Proof-of-Stake (PoS) with privacy and anonymity preserving payments. We combine Ouroboros Praos, a well-known PoS protocol, with CryptoNote, a privacy-preserving payment system based on ring signatures, which has been widely used in practice.
