Common Prefix

Flashbots

Flashbots and Common Prefix are working together to explore novel consensus-like mechanisms that allow for the construction of highly efficient systems in throughput and latency. Such systems will stand at the heart of many performance-critical downstream applications, including the democratization of MEV auctions. The systems we are designing ensure any attempts by a minority adversary at creating unaccountable and selective censorship are withstood, a security guarantee that traditional consensus systems have not been capable of providing.

Achieving efficiency and short-term censorship resistance on Suave

In this report, we evaluated existing leader-based protocols and proposed censorship-resistance solutions that can be implemented on top of them. We also explored existing parallel-leader and DAG-based protocols that achieve censorship resistance by construction. Finally, we reviewed consensusless protocols and argued that they offer the best efficiency and censorship-resistance combination.
